Congratulations to our own Coach Scott Carter for being awarded GA High School 1-5A swim coach of the year.
The Chastain Park Athletic Club (CPAC) is proud to be entering its 13th season managing the Chastain Park Pool (est. 1940). The Chastain Park Athletic Club, a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization, was established in 2002 in order to save our public swimming pool, develop new facilities, and serve our community. CPAC's goal is to promote aquatics, health, recreation, and safety.
We continue to be focused on enhancing the existing facilities, as well as funding and phasing in new facilities. Last summer was highlighted with additional improvements that were enjoyed by thousands of visitors taking part in youth camps, swim lessons, stroke clinics, and neighborhood gatherings
In 2003, CPAC created the successful Chastain Park Tidal Waves Swim Team; with its vision being to teach children how to properly swim in a competitive environment while having fun. Our Tidal Waves Swim Team placed 3rd at the 2013 Atlanta Swimming Association Championships. The Tidal Waves have had an impressive history of being in the top 3 placing team since 2007, as well as holding the Championship First Place title in 2009.
Chastain pool will be open for a special event on the morning of Saturday, April 5th as co-hosts of the 4th Annual Chastain Park TriPATHlon. Our regular pool season will begin on Saturday, May 10th. We plan to remain open through at least September 7th. The pool opens at 3:30 PM on weekdays while public schools are in session; and will open at 10 AM when school is out of session, as well as on weekends.
We would love for you to join us this summer and enjoy a relaxing break lounging in the sun poolside, getting in some exercise while swimming laps in one of our 10 swim lanes, playing with your children in our shallow pool area, and/or catching up with or meeting new friends. Chastain Pool is a community pool and open to the public.
