The Chastain Park Athletic Club (CPAC) is proud to have started our seventh season of managing the Chastain Park Pool, which was built in 1942. Off-season repairs and upgrades funded by a City of Atlanta Opportunity Bond have been completed and we opened on schedule on May 17th, 2008.
Last summer was highlighted by over 22,500 visitors from youth camps, swim lessons, Chastain neighborhood gatherings and our incredible Tidal Waves Swim Team. Moreover, we are focused on coalition building and fund raising for the future Chastain Aquatic Center (CAC) pictured above. If you have not had a chance, please take the above survey and join our CPAC e-mail list, so that we may keep you informed of our progress.
On July 4th, 2002, the Chastain Park Pool re-opened after we saved it from demolition and became the home of the The Chastain Park Athletic Club, a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization. We were successful in forming a public/private partnership with the City of Atlanta allowing us to maintain and operate the facility, while furthering our mission of promoting aquatics, sports, and safety through outreach, while revitalizing the Chastain Park Pool. In 2003, we created the extremely successful Chastain Park Tidal Waves Swim Team.
More importantly, our community pool is now clean, refreshing, and available to the public. CPAC thanks you for your support!
